Progressive subretinal fibrosis and uveitis.

چکیده
Three patients with intraocular inflammation and unusual progressive subretinal lesions are described. This entity is characterised by a chronic vitreous inflammation in association with whitish "fibrotic'-like subretinal lesions which progressively enlarge and coalesce. The patients all developed cystoid macular oedema. The differential diagnosis of this entity is discussed. These patients appear to have a unique and previously undescribed inflammatory disorder. The macular oedema responded to corticosteroid therapy in only one patient, and no therapy appeared to alter the course of the disease. Unlike many other patients with posterior uveitis these did not respond to the retinal S-antigen.

Correction: IL-10 Is Significantly Involved in HSP70-Regulation of Experimental Subretinal Fibrosis
Subretinal fibrosis is directly related to severe visual loss, especially if occurs in the macula, and is frequently observed in advanced age-related macular degeneration and other refractory eye disorders such as diabetic retinopathy and uveitis. In this study, we analyzed the immunosuppressive mechanism of subretinal fibrosis using the novel animal model recently demonstrated. Both TLR2 and T...

We describe a case of progressive subretinal fibrosis and multifocal chorioretinitis along with its findings on both fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. The progressive subretinal fibrosis syndrome is a severe subset of multifocal choroiditis. The clustering of lesions around the nerve optic head may mean that the disease is spread through the flow in and out of the eye around the op...

BACKGROUND Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a rare complication of intermediate uveitis. Risk factors are not well-characterized. Here, we describe a case of peripapillary CNV in a patient with intermediate uveitis and explore the pathophysiology and treatment of this condition. This study is a case report and review of the literature. RESULTS A 15-year-old boy with intermediate uveitis ...

متن کاملSuccessful Management of Diffuse Unilateral Subacute Neuroretinitis with Anthelmintics, and Intravitreal Triamcinolone followed by Laser Photocoagulation
PURPOSE Diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis (DUSN), a form of posterior uveitis, is secondary to the presence of a highly motile nematode in the intraretinal or subretinal space. Herein, we report a case of DUSN that was successfully managed by an intravitreal injection of triamcinolone and laser therapy. CASE REPORT A middle-aged man with complaint of decreased vision and marked unila...
